Qui tacet consentire videtur. - "Silence gives consent."
Ad forests, endless, Billboard temples to the gods, Brand clones, walking ads. - By me
I wish there was some easier way of allowing people to see who you are than explaining it in words. Words alone cannot grasp the huge concepts behind them, but they must suffice.
At the age of 19, nearly 20, I already have a very developed world view for my age. I was raised by unreformed hippies, and I have hippie tendancies in my own right. I'm not a hippie, I'm more than just that. Aside from hippie-ism, others have also identified me with the Goth and Geek subcultures. I am all of those things and more. I am a democratic socialist, or a "liberal" to oversimplify things. My politics are a very important part of my life (but I don't let them overwhelm me), and I am constantly involved in social and economic movements in this country.
But I'm not an ultra-serious person, even with my politics and beliefs. I have a highly developed sense of humor, and I am capable of laughing at myself. I have a lot of fun, and I am fond of joking around with my friends. Sarcasm is one of my favored tools, and I can make it an art form.
I enjoy music greatly, and prefer the metal and alternative of the last 20 years, and the psychedelic music of the 60's and 70's. Amongst my favorite musicians and bands are: System of A Down, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, The Who, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Rage Against the Machine, and Green Day. I also enjoy punk from all eras, and the 80's punk band Dead Kennedys are one of my favorite bands.
Moreso than music, I enjoy reading. I've read many books in my lifetime, and expect to read many more. Fiction or nonfiction, as long as it's a good book, I will read it.
I am a double major in college, Computer Engineering and Journalism, in my Freshman year of college. I am attending Henry Ford Community College for the time being, although after my sophmore year I hope to transfer to either the University of Michigan or the Rochester Institute of Technology.
